Plants to soak up excess water?

I have a french drain system in the back yard (Texas zone 7) and it puddles some with water in the dry well at the end of the drain. You can't make it drain to the street because of the slope and my house is a front entry driveway. I need some plant suggestions for this area. Maybe a tree or a shrub that likes water to help soak it up some. I don't want to breed mosquitos at the back of my small yard. I am afraid of Willows because I don't want the root system to invade the french drain in it's search for water. Any suggestions?
