Do guys generally pick the prettier girl?

hey, im usually confident, infact i never say i look bad or anything, if i get a compliment i say thanx :) and i generally dont think i look bad.... im not perfect, but im comfortable with myself :) BUT... there is this girl, she is so much prettier than me, and i know thats bad to say, and i know its annoying when people say that, but its so true.... she is HOT and POPULAR :L and is not a skank at all, and she dated this guy im really into, she broke up with him, i think because she didnt think he was good enough for him, she felt bad about it tho.... but i really like this guy, and i think he misses her, im not 100% sure, but im not sure if i have a chance when she is looking so fine :L .... does looks somewhat matter to a guy? will she be all he ever thinks about? or do i have a chance?
