Overprotective Mother in college?

I'm uming you are at least 18..... so not only is your mother being overprotective, she's also controlling and doesn't want to promote you independence. The only way you are going to get to a dorm is If you can afford college on your own, because I'm not sure there is anything you can say to your mom to get her to realize that she's over doing it. Sorry you are going through this.
