Has the current U.S. administration's lack of diplomatic finesse left us few options?

Countries like Venezuela with Hugo Chavez thumb their collective noses at us. So does North Korea and Iran. Cuba has become the darling of the anti-American coalition. Our European allies are of little help. Are we a victim of our own hubris?
